Worrying helps us identify concerns and to solve problems. However, worrying sometimes stops us from thinking clearly. When our worries overwhelm us, we simply go round in circles and become incapable of finding a solution to our problems. Similarly, being scared of something can be a way for us to recognise potential dangers and to avoid harm.

But different fears affect different people in very different ways. For example, you may be afraid of deep water, but still find that you really want to know how to swim. Or you may be afraid of falling over, but still find you want to know how to ride a bike. In such cases, it is a good idea to try and overcome the irrational fear that makes it hard for you to do something that you know may be practical, useful and enjoyable.

Share Your Problem
It is important that you try not to worry alone. The old saying "a problem shared is a problem halved" is true. One of the best ways of reducing worry is to talk to your friends and family and share your anxieties. Similarly, try talking about your fears to them. You will be amazed how describing your fears in this way helps cut them down to size. Speaking about yourworries and fears helps you identify and understand them better. These are the basic keys to overcoming worries and fears on a step-by-step basis.

Exercise
Exercise is one of the best ways to stop worrying and reduce anxiety. Exercising releases chemicals called "endorphins" in your brain that calm you down. Exercise also helps you sleep better. Sleep is one of the very best remedies for taking away worries and anxieties. If you can sleep on a problem or sense of anxiety, you often wake up feeling you have a new idea or way of dealing with that problem or sorting out your anxiety.
